Carrots are tasty at any age, and they're packed with nutrients that growing babies need. Whether you're looking to improve your baby's health or to cut down on buying expensive processed baby food, this easy baby food recipe is perfect for you.

Ingredients:

Lots of carrots
A little water

Directions:

Peel and slice your carrots, use as many as you want. Put them into a steaming basket over boiling water, let steam for 20-25 minutes or until the carrots are all very tender. Put the steamed carrots into a blender with a little water (do not use the water you cooked the carrots in). Puree the carrots.

After the puree has cooled off, put it in the fridge. It'll stay good for two days. You can also freeze it by putting it in ice cube trays and then putting the ice cubes in a container or bag. Use the frozen puree within three months.

Why make your own baby food?

It's easy. You can make a big batch once a week and freeze most of it. After a few weeks, you'll have a variety of frozen food for your little one ready to go whenever you need it. This saves time when things get busy.

It's also much more affordable than buying premade baby food. A bag of carrots is only a few dollars, you'll spend much more than that on premade baby food.

Homemade is almost always healthier! Instead of foods filled with preservatives, added sugars, dyes and other additives, you can use fresh produce with little or nothing else mixed in. It's so healthy that you might be tempted to share some with your baby!
